Alexander "Sawney" Bean(e) was the head of a 48-member clan in 16th-century Scotland, executed for the mass murder and cannibalization of over 30 to 40 people.

He began life as a hedger and ditcher, but, being prone to idleness and inclined towards dishonesty he ran away from home with a woman who was as viciously inclined as himself. Having no means to make a living they set up home in a sea cave in Galloway supporting themselves by robbing and murdering travelers and locals, and surviving on their victim's pickled and salted flesh. In time their family grew to an incestuous gang of 46 sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters.

Boston Molasses Disaster

I don't think I can even begin writing a proper blog for this man. I'm 2 days into researching and I'm still finding new fascinating information and videos every time I search his name.

I'll get back to this at some point in time, but I think Flava Flav might be a reincarnation of Father Divine...

Here's some interesting tidbits

• A letter once came through the US Post Office, addressed to "God, Harlem, USA" which was promptly delivered to Father Divine.
  

• Father Divine wasn't born. He actually had ‘combusted’ one day in 1900 at the corner of 7th Avenue and 134th Street in Harlem.

• He ended all of his letters with - "Sincerely wishing that you and those with whom you are concerned might be even as I AM for I AM well, healthy, joyful, peaceful, lively, loving, successful, prosperous and happy in spirit, body and mind and in every organ, muscle, sinew, joint, limb, vein and bone and even in every atom, fibre and cell of MY bodily form.---FATHER DIVINE
